Live
Gym Kit
Fresh, irresistable pop-funk grooves from a multitalented lineup: quadruple lead vocals plus guitar, bass, keys, viola, and samples.
Chris Rundell (Keys, Vocals) and I are the core writing partnership. Together we wrote and recorded Yes Please We Like Music (2024), drawing on Hot Chip, Parcels, and Daft Punk. As well as handling bookings, playing live bass and fronting the band, I develop and maintain our custom asset generation toolset.
Video footage is from the album’s dual launch parties: a pro edit from Manchester and a fan recording from London.
Matt Hartless and the Maverick Seven
A bombastic Manchester band playing a blend of ska-punk, stadium rock and disco, with electric violin, lusty three part vocals, and occasional brass ("the Moon section"). Influences include Streetlight Manifesto, Muse, Gogol Bordello, Bellowhead - any and all sounds which can get a crowd moving, the faster the better.
I played bass (and piano in the early years), live and on record. Offstage I was the band’s booking agent, working closely with Shelli LeFay (violin, vocals, social media) and managing finances and invoicing.
Video footage is from the launch of To The Mountain at Night People, Manchester, in 2022. It was our first hometown show after a long string of festivals, and the atmosphere was electric.

Black Mauris
A seat-of-the-pants live project I led in 2022.
I chose three collaborators for four days of intensive writing and rehearsal, creating a one hour show from scratch which we played in front of a paying audience on day 5. After the performance we vowed never to revisit any of the material - audience members bought into the idea of seeing something evanescent and immediate, which didn't exist beforehand and would leave no trace after.
Black Mauris is a cheerful tale about a black cat and his encounter with a delicious nest of fledgelings. I played piano, and relished soloing on such a hisitronic backing.
Whiskey and Rhyme
Showreel footage for a two-piece covers/standards band.
All of Me is a favourite of mine, behind only There Will Never Be Another You.
